Workfolio's Auto Clock-In Feature
Workfolio
Last Update 2 dagen geleden
Auto Clock-In is a feature your organisation admin can turn on for your team. When it’s on, the Workfolio app clocks you in automatically — you don’t need to open the app and click Clock In to start your day.
Why did my organisation enable this?
For one simple reason: people forget to clock in.
- Your day starts on time, every time. The moment you sign in to your computer, you’re clocked in.
- No more “wait — did I clock in?” If you’ve been working for a while and suddenly wonder whether you remembered, the answer is yes — the app took care of it. Just look for the green banner.
- One less thing to think about. Your attention stays on your work, not on remembering a button.
The flow is designed to be invisible when things are normal, and hands-off when you make a choice:
1. Starting your day Turn on your computer and sign in as usual. Within a few seconds, Workfolio clocks you in on its own. The home screen shows a green banner: “Auto Clock-In started — you were clocked-in automatically.” That’s it — your day has begun.
2. Taking a break Click Take a Break whenever you need one. Your break is fully respected: Auto Clock-In will not start your work again on its own. When you’re back, click Resume Work — the amber banner reminds you.
3. Clocking out Click Clock Out when you’re done (or done for now). Just like breaks, this is your decision and the app honours it: you stay clocked out until you click Clock In again. The amber banner will say so.
4. The next day A new day starts fresh. Sign in to your computer and Auto Clock-In begins your day automatically again — yesterday’s clock-out doesn’t carry over.
What Auto Clock-In never does
- It never starts your work again during a break or after you clock out — those always wait for your click.
- It never asks you to do anything extra. If you see the green banner, everything is already taken care of.
Frequently asked questionsHow do I know it’s working?
Look at the home screen. A green banner means you’re clocked in (or will be, on sign-in). An amber banner means the app is waiting for you — click Resume Work or Clock In when ready.
I signed in to my computer but don’t want to start work yet. What do I do?
Just click Clock Out. You’ll stay clocked out until you choose to clock in — Auto Clock-In won’t override your decision for the rest of the day.
Does it work after a restart or if my laptop slept overnight?
Yes. Whenever your new workday begins — a fresh boot, a morning wake-up, or your first sign-in of the day — you’re clocked in automatically.
Can I turn it off?
Auto Clock-In is managed by your organisation. If you feel it doesn’t fit how you work, talk to your Team Admin — it’s a team-level setting.
Which team do my hours go to?
Your currently selected team (shown at the top of the app). To change it, clock out first, pick your team, then clock in.
